Hello.
Today we are introducing raw makgeolli produced completely in-house.
.
Did you know that they manufacture raw makgeolli at Pyongpyongsa?
.
What is makgeolli anyway?
It is a traditional Korean fermented alcoholic beverage made mainly from rice. It is also called "Nonju" because it has been drunk between farm work since ancient times.
.
At about 6% alcohol by volume, it is a little higher than beer, but its sweetness makes it easy to drink, making it popular among women. In Korea, "raw makkoli," which is not heat-treated, is popular, and people enjoy the carbonation and the changes in sweetness and sourness. Another reason for its popularity lies in the ingredients of makkoli. Makkoli is rich in dietary fiber, vitamins B and C, and lactic acid bacteria. Lactobacilli are particularly noteworthy for their ability to regulate the intestinal environment and improve immunity, among other benefits for the body. In addition, the abundant dietary fiber helps to regulate the large intestine and works together with lactobacilli, so it is also attracting attention as a diet drink.
.
Freshness is essential for "raw makkoli," which is made from living yeast. However, because it is constantly fermenting, it is said to be difficult to import it to Japan in a delicious state. Therefore, Pyonpyonsha built a makkoli workshop in Morioka City and began producing raw makkoli.
.
The rice used for this product is grown under contract at Tazhane Farm, the first certified "Rice Eco-Farmer" in Morioka City. The rice is fermented with home-produced barley malt and Morioka's limpid water according to the authentic Korean method. The pasteurization process is not a common method of pasteurization, but rather a method of preserving the freshness of the product by keeping it at a low temperature for a short time.

By the way, "sen" means "raw" in Korean.

Raw makkoli, which is not heat treated, keeps yeast and lactic acid bacteria alive, making it a drink that is good for health and beauty. Sen" was born from the fusion of Iwate ingredients and Korean technology, and is attractive for its well-balanced sourness, sweetness, and carbonation, as well as its light, refreshing taste. Therefore, even those who do not like alcohol can enjoy it comfortably.

Of course, it is also perfect for savory barbecued meat, cool and refreshing cold noodles, and Korean dishes with fragrant vegetables and spices. It will make your food even more delicious and your dining table even more enjoyable.

We are confident that we have created this product because we are particular about the ingredients, production method, and taste of all our dishes. You can purchase them at our stores or through our online store, so please enjoy them at home, as souvenirs, as gifts, and for many other occasions.
